GLOring Use and Care
Thank you for choosing Glorope Safety Solutions’ GLOring: a bright at night product. Instructions for use
This life-saving device is designed for maximum visibility in low-light and nighttime conditions. For optimal performance, please follow these instructions carefully.
1. Preparing the Life Ring for Use
To ensure the life ring glows brightly during nighttime or in low-light conditions, it requires sufficient exposure to light beforehand. Follow these guidelines:
- Daylight Exposure:
For the longest duration of glow, expose the life ring to a minimum of 8 hours of natural daylight. Direct sunlight is ideal for charging the life ring to its full capacity. In ideal conditions your GLOring will emit a glow for up to 12 hours. - Artificial Light Exposure:
If daylight is not available, the life ring can also be charged using artificial light, however the glow duration of your GLOring will vary depending on the quality and duration of artificial light exposure - If the glow is depleted, exposing the entire ring to a bright light source (such as a flashlight or floodlight) for at least 60 seconds will generate a glow. This method will produce a lower glow intensity and shorter duration compared to daylight exposure.
2. Using the Life Ring in an Emergency
- Read, understand and follow the “Safe Boaters Guide” before using this appliance
- Identify the Emergency:
In the event of a person overboard or similar water emergency, retrieve the life ring from its storage location as quickly as possible. - Deploy the Life Ring:
Throw the life ring towards the individual in the water, aiming for them to easily grasp it. Ensure that the attached rope (recommended) is securely fastened to the boat or marina to allow for easy retrieval. - Illumination at Night:
When charged according to the instructions, the GLOring will glow in the dark, enhancing its visibility in water during nighttime or low-light situations.
3. Important Notes on Glow Duration
- GLOring’s glow duration and intensity are influenced by various environmental factors, including the amount of light exposure
- The glow will naturally diminish over time. For the best visibility, ensure the life ring receives sufficient light exposure as outlined in Section 1. In cases where extended night use is anticipated, periodic recharging of the life ring may be required.
4. Storage and Maintenance
- Storage:
Your GLOring is manufactured and designed to withstand the harshest conditions. When not in use, store the life ring where it is easily seen and in an area that receives natural or artificial light. - Cleaning:
To maintain your GLOring, we recommend periodically cleaning it with fresh water and mild soap as required.
5. Safety Reminders
- Intended Use:
The GLORring is designed for emergency use only and should not be used as a recreational flotation device. - Maintenance Checks:
Regularly inspect the life ring for signs of wear and damage. Replace the life ring if any damage is detected.
